The big day!

I mentioned in the last post that I wanted to build my own website, the blogger.com free sites are very limited in what you can do. Well, since the last blog I've made things happen: I've bought the web domain, put up a temporary message with a link to this blog, have come up with a map of how I want the site organised and even managed to fit in some basic designs. I don't think the site will be properly ready for another couple of months yet, but I'll be putting up something basic over the next couple of weeks. What with databases, automated emails and the like it's going to take a while to know how these bits work.

Here are the results since the last post:

System Selections continues its return to form and I'm very happy to see it. Results would have been even better over the last few days had Saturday's results been placed. I was at a football tournament on Saturday and from what the Misses tells me it was partly my fault that bets weren't placed (seems as though I left some accounts a tad low on $$). Still, at least we got on with Equine's bet coming in at 8.5 and 4 Pronged Attack's much needed winner on Sunday.

Football Elite's ante-post selection R. Van Persie came in each way for a 0.5 PT profit. I was fairly content with the return seeing as though it was with a bookie that has severely restricted me. The same goes for another ante-post bet that will pay out on Saturday (99.99%), the bet on Messi to be Champions League top scorer, also with a bookie that has restricted me to £3 win or £1.50 each way with BOG removed, why don't they just close the account down?

Today is a big day, on a professional level this is the day I feel that I'm a full-time bettor/trader. The reason being is that before I had several commitments limiting the amount of time I could put it. Now, it is only my part-time job in the afternoon that gets in the way. I don't plan on relinquishing my part-time job, the simple fact is that betting and trading can lose an edge from one day to the next so until I've built up considerable financial reserves my part-time job is staying. Even with considerable reserves in the bank I may not give it up, it's somewhere to socialise and use my vocal cords.

By the way it was my penalty miss that sent us packing at the tournament after reaching the quarter finals. I had never missed a penalty before, but for some unknown reason I hit it with my heel, instead of it going into the top right corner it went into the middle of the goal at shin height, right where the keeper's legs were. There is a saying in Portuguese, "azar no jogo sorte no amor"... life goes on. There's another tournament this Sunday, goals will be taller so if there's penalties I'll be looking for the smash.

I'm off to put some ice on my hamstrings, they're killing me. Then there's the massage tomorrow morning, can't wait!

2 Announcements

There is good news in that some colleagues and myself will start to post free trading advice. We don't have a set start date yet but will be looking to trade the major summer leagues where there is likely to be better liquidity. The trades will be posted here on the blog, on my Twitter page and on the SBC website. Only when enough games have been played in the league will we consider any trades. We may trade other sports, but the person who would be responsible for this is still to give us a final decision as to whether to join us or not... tbc. We will be supplying tips (normal back bets) as well.

Once the big leagues restart in August we'll be looking to trade them from around September onwards.

This is going to be long-term so if anyone does decide to follow the trades we're expecting to make around 60 PTS in our first year, but will be aiming much higher. I'll be giving further details as I have them, any questions feel free to leave a post. We will be releasing a trading guide within the next week or so with suggestions on trading bank setup, liability per trade, when to trade out, reducing risk, using Betfair/Betdaq, etc.

The second announcement is that I will be creating my own website. The reason being is that this one severely restricts me and I don't like being restricted! lol. Once the new site is up and running I'll be providing a link so you can receive the trades and tips by email.

I am a little concerned by the Form Bet performance, it seems alterations are made to staking, systems, etc. every other week and that doesn't bring any security. Let's hope the updated version of the spreadsheet brings about some improvements.

Equine hasn't had the busiest of weeks and some of the picks haven't been on the best of grades, possibly why we've made a 4.9 PTS loss. On the other hand we've had some better bets from System Selections with a few good winners yesterday at 14/1 (SP 9/1) and 16/1. Another service that is still going in the right direction is PJAF with another 8.4 PTS accumulated, so glad I decided to jump on this boat. My own trading continues to go in the right direction with another couple of winners in Serie A on Sunday. The trades I've been supplying to Centaur will be part of the free trading service.

I'm off to go and buy a website name!

Condensed, and an annoucement

Having a more condensed portfolio is certainly a lot easier to work with, and I feel that the services I've stuck with are very good ones. It's a pity System Selections have turned a 117 PTS loss since I joined but that is how the dice roles at times, there have been instances when I've joined at the right time so it should all be balancing itself out.

Today was one of those really good days that haven't been happening much recently. When Equine does the business it really does pull the rest of the services up. We had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the service today meaning some very tidy profits. Even the Accidental bets did well a few days ago and again that was in part attributable to Equine. I don't think I fully explained Equine's rather strange new staking system to the wife so when the bet came through at £150 she staked that same amount. The real stake should of been just under half that amount but guess what, it only went on a won didn't it? I couldn't keep a straight face when she asked me if it had won or not. Then came the demand for a bonus salary!

It's kind of embarrassing that the Accidental Bets are doing better than my own bets, it just goes to show how events are never guaranteed and that luck does really play its part. I'm not a fan of luck, I'd much rather calculate the probabilities, find mistakes in the odds and play to win long-term with value on my side.

I have a major announcement to make within the next week or so... some colleagues and myself plan on rolling out a free trading service. The aim is to help gamblers diversify their portfolios, focusing on making profits from exchanges where you won't be restricted or told your custom isn't welcome. Lots of details to be ironed out still, but will come back later with further details.

Good luck!
