If there is anything out of place it's simply not traded. But, the football gods were not so kind today and tomorrow is another day. We take it on the chin and move on, as always.

Twitter - in-play trades
I have started putting into practice the necessary infrastructure for our in-play trading service that will start at the beginning of September. For those that have given me their Twitter accounts already I have added those IDs to my in-play Twitter account; Kodagira_In-play. If anyone else would like to receive the Tweets for the service then please send an email to kodagira@gmail.com where I'll add your Twitter ID and then all you'll need to do is add me as well.
Once my trading partner has created his in-play Twitter ID I will notify all by email.
The likely scenario for such a service is that at the beginning of the week we will send out an in-play schedule. Then, on the day that trading is likely to happen we will send out a message in the morning advising whether there are likely to be in-play trades or not. This way we can all be organised, I certainly wouldn't want anyone hanging around for trades that won't be coming.
Will be doing some in-play trades over the next couple of weeks, as testers, won't be anything official.

Website update
I mentioned a while ago that I'd be looking to have a website developed. The good news is that according to the web developer it is only two weeks away from being finished. It won't be anything fancy but will be just how I want it. There will be areas for betting, trading, articles, contact, etc, but I'll put up a last post on here once the transition to the new site is ready.

Very important update
No trades today
There are no trades today, Betfair have not put up any of the league games from Sweden or Norway instead putting up Europa League games.
Chance of reduced number of trades this month
Over the coming month or so this will happen more and more, where the summer league games are replaced on Betfair by games from superior leagues. That presents a minor problem for us: as we won't be getting involved in leagues until at least 10 games into the season there may be a reduction in the number of trades as a result. If Betfair continue to put up the games from the summer leagues we'll be ok, if they don't then expect a lower number of trades. Once September starts expect quite a few trades... :D
In-play trading - Twitter
On another note we've decided to supply additional trades in-play via Twitter. We are kind of doing that already but over the coming month we'll be creating separate Twitter accounts so that only those people who enter in contact with us registering their interest will be part of the list. It'll be free! We won't be on every single day, but we'll be letting you know when we'll be on, perhaps sending through a schedule at the beginning of the week. If you're interested let us know.
Staking change - now 3% (or 3 POINTS)
This is the biggest change we are implementing from today, that is instead of risking 2.5% (or 2.5 PTS) liability per trade we're now increasing that slightly to 3% (or 3 PTS). We have looked at the results, strike rate and average odds and feel the best way to get more out of the service 3% would be better. Rest assured it is very unlikely we will ever go above 3% liability.

July Review
Alas, the review has arrived.
Here are July's stats:

Profit/loss to 2.5% of trading bank (with compound staking) - +9.1
Since inception (up to 03/08)

Removing the saver trades on the 1.5 goals trade turned out to be a good decision. They were eating into the profits of winning trades and wouldn't have been needed once during July. Losses incurred didn't come from any specific leagues or trades, which is always a good sign. Having looked at the stats regarding the losing games I think it was just a case of "that result had to happen at some point".
As for the winning trades profits have come from most areas. Laying the Home or Away team has produced a tiny loss, but there were only 5 trades so we certainly won't be drawing any conclusions yet. Trading the 1.5 goals and HT draw has done really well. It may seem that our variety of trades is still limited, but summer leagues are tremendously difficult to profit from. Each league has its own characteristics and that will mean each league being treated with its own trade types.
We've been doing really well, but it's still a case of keeping our feet firmly on the ground and picking off the badly priced markets as and when. We certainly won't be forcing anything; there's only a trade when there's plenty of value. With the Big Leagues starting it really is a case of walking on thin ice so don't expect much movement until we're into September.

Trading the 1.5 goals and HT draw has done really well. It may seem that our variety of trades is still limited, but summer leagues are tremendously difficult to profit from. Each league has its own characteristics and that will mean each league being treated with its own trade types.
We've been doing really well, but it's still a case of keeping our feet firmly on the ground and picking off the badly priced markets as and when. We certainly won't be forcing anything; there's only a trade when there's plenty of value. With the Big Leagues starting it really is a case of walking on thin ice so don't expect much movement until we're into September.

After doing a monthly review we have decided to increase staking from 2.5% to 3% starting from tomorrow. The reason being is that our strike rate is high allowing our staking to be a tad more aggressive. Monthly review will be put up tonight.
