A serious question to ask oneself

I'm not the pessimistic type but this gambling business is severely testing my optimistic ways. There were 56 horse racing selections today: 5 Placed, 4 Void, 4 Winners and 43 Losers. Of the 43 Losers there were 8 seconds and 4 thirds. In one race we had 2nd, 3rd and 4th but not the winner... aiii meu Deusssssssss. The month was already going bad, but today's losses have made this work turn quite miserable indeed. Tomorrow may be a better day, but I live in the present and this is like walking through quicksand at the moment.

I ask myself a serious question, is this all worth it, really? The last two years have been to nothing, my overall profit after costs is pathetic. We're in April already and after costs I'm about £1,500 down for the year. I don't want to be paying to work, this must function like a business whereby a profit has to be made and I'm a long way from making a serious profit.

Apologies if I sound down beaten at the moment but the purpose of having a portfolio and working with top services is to make a considerable profit and that just isn't happening. I haven't even taken a salary from my overall profit having put in hundreds and hundreds of hours. After following the threads at Smartersig there is, in my opinion, only one way to make real profits and that's to generate ideas and research those ideas until you find your own profitable niche. Believe me, this negative energy isn't going to waste, it's being channelled into motivating me further into coming up with my own profitable niches. My research is going well, I haven't brought the data together yet but will be doing that part over the next 10 days or so.

When it comes to making a profit us subscribers have a difficult task at hand: we must stake enough to cover subscription costs and to make tidy profits, all based on past ROI of course. Think that's easy? (ironic laugh comes out) I think we underestimate at times what the real profits we can make are and it's something I'll be looking into for the services I follow. Maybe the way ahead is to have less tipsters, say 4-8, but stick with those that have a real long-term high ROI to at least 3 years. As I was saying yesterday I don't think 1 year is sufficient enough for value to show its true colours. My own research will be back dated to at least 3 years.
