Dedication

In the early days of gambling I would quite often feel dejected after a day's hard work putting bets on, depositing, withdrawing, etc,  without making a profit. It's quite funny what experience can bring you, to your attitude towards certain things. As humans we are tuned in to the short-term, we're very lucky to be born into a family that has a winning attitude and long-term mentality. Those of us who haven't been fortunate must develop a long-term attitude and work on those parts of us trying to protect us: only a 9-5 brings real stability, gambling is a mugs game, etc.

I have learnt a hell of a lot over the last two years but know there's still so much to learn, it is a passion of mine to learn and I hope I will always have the opportunity to continue learning. Having written an article for the SBC magazine and developed ways of getting around bookmaker restrictions I would say I'm quite close to becoming a specialist, but only in bookmaker restrictions. I am yet a specialist in statistics and trading... the trading I am working on but the statistics I am picking up bit by bit. One day I hope to be a specialist in those areas too, but it's all about long-term planning and getting those plans going straight away. It might be researching local courses, reading a book, getting your spreadsheets to where you want them to be or anything else that could help you become good at something, knowledgeable in fact. You may have plans, are you close to putting them into practice? What could you do tonight to get them into action, take them off the drawing board? Would they improve something around you, save you time and energy? Have a think, write them down.

We had the 2nd and 3rd in the 14:25 at Lingfield and got done by the 3rd favourite, oh well, tomorrow is another day. Geert Van Elsen had another winner, he had one yesterday but the odds had disappeared by the time I tried getting on. Pro Bandit did the business yet again with a 5/1 E/W winner, but Northern Monkey Punter had a complete 5 bet wipeout as did Equine Investments.

So we must take the small loss on the chin and continue marching as if nothing had happened today.
