If you have £100 and the inflation rate (I prefer to use the RPI inflation rate) over the course of a year is 4.8% then the £100 you had in your pocket 365 days ago is now worth £95.20. Stick your money in a savings account that gives you 3% per annum and you're still losing money. ISA's help as they're tax free but you won't beat current inflation rates. What annoys me most is that interest rates are at 0.5% in the UK, but do you think you'll find a loan at anywhere near 0.5%??? No chance, the banks add their mega spreads so they can carry on paying bumper bonusses and repay government loans...
I had an ROI of 3% today. The average I'm looking to achieve with each tipster is 10% over the course of a given season. It beats what I would get from a saving's account. Yes, gambling is high-risk but my portfolio consists of proven tipsters who over months and years have demonstrated that they have an edge.
If one, two or even three of the tipsters have a bad season I'm still likely to end up with a reasonable profit. Problems can occur with services where you are required to stake higher in order to cover subscription charges. It's normal for a tipster to have a poor run and the great thing about having a portfolio of services is that most of the time if one service is having a poor run then the other services compensate the losses. Of course, that's not always the case so one's betting bank must be setup so it can handle a very poor run from all of your services. Although very unlikely to happen it can happen, so prepare for it.
10%? I would settle for that at the end of the season. (20% would be better though.... I'm sure you'd agree if you could read this...lol)
