Consistency

I remember when I first started gambling, I didn't have a clue what I was doing and if following a service would decide when and when not to follow. The reason was mainly because my betting bank wasn't correctly set up so when a losing run kicked in I would simply stop following the tipster until it started winning again. Crazy I know, I'll also include stupid, naive, disorganised, etc.

Anyway, it all came back on me as I missed out on Equine Investment's record August of 2009. As the service wasn't going particularly well and I was still new to gambling and its volatility I said to myself that I'd take August out. Well, I missed out on about 100PTS profit..... no more said.

The message I'm attempting to get over to any newcomers is that if the service has a proven track record and has been proofed to a well-known 3rd party then ride out the storm. Don't turn your back like I did as it could cost you. Of course, there are times when you do need to stop following a service because it just doesn't have its edge anymore.

Here are today's results:

Hats off to Pro Bandit once again: two races and two winners for a 2.69PTS profit for the day. And again my luck held out with Each Way Value, I took odds lower than 11/1 with one winner, one placed and three losers for a 2.38PTS profit. There'll be more bets for Each Way Value tomorrow.

I was happy to get the football bets on today, even if they are hard to get on at times. I need to do some training to get my bets on quicker. I'm hoping for some good results from Mr Gekko and Conference North.

Have a good weekend

  1. Consistency is exactly what I am striving for in my wagering operation. I have been tossed with the virtues of win only as opposed to using the place (second in the USA) and show (must finish in the top three in the USA). I have had some real success using a parlay involving the place and show pools.

After identifying a selection a make a wager to either place or show...if it cashes I then wager the total return on the next qualifying selection. In this manor I have improved my ROI. Consistency is the key to success.

    Good luck

  2. Consistency is such a broad word and covers just about everything gambling. Be it consistency in your staking, consistency in the performance of a tipster or even consistency of your mental state.

It's so important to do whatever you can to maintain your optimism and positivity, and they both help with maintaining consistency.
